How to Vote and Track your ballot in Ocean County, NJ

With the expansion of early voting and vote-by-mail, there have never been more opportunities to cast your ballot in Ocean County. But like with anything new, comes a bit of confusion. This article covers everything you need to know about early voting, vote by mail and voting in-person, and how to ensure your ballot was counted in Ocean County this year (2021).


There are three ways to vote in this coming general election, early voting, voting by mail, and voting at your polling place.

Early Voting


Early voting is taking place between Saturday, October 23 - Sunday October 31 2021 from 10AM - 8PM Monday - Saturday and 10AM-6PM Sundays. Any registered voter in Ocean County can go to any one of the following polling locations to vote early.

Voting by Mail


For registered voters who would like to vote by mail, you may request a mail-in-ballot from the county clerk using the form below which is also available at this link and following the form's instructions.

If you mail your ballot, it must be postmarked by 8:00PM on November 2nd and received by the County Board of Elections no later than 8:00PM on November 8th. Your mail-in ballot cannot be accepted at early voting or regular polling locations.


You may however drop your ballot to the County Board of Elections Office or any of the following ballot drop boxes:

Voting in Person


For registered voters who would like to vote in person, please visit your designated polling location between 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 2. Your designated polling location can be found on sample ballots mailed to your address or you may visit this official NJ State website link where you can input your address and find out where you should go on election day. If you go to the incorrect ballot, you may still vote, however you will need to request a provisional ballot. If you are an eligible voter, you're ballot will be counted.

Tracking Your Mail-in, or Provisional Ballot:


Once your ballot is mailed or your in person ballot is cast (including provisional ballots), you can track it online to ensure that it was received and accepted by going to this official NJ Department of Elections Website and creating a "voter record" account. Your account will tell you the status of your ballot as well as registration status, party affiliation, polling data, and other very useful information.
