Meet Gabe and Shaun

Although Gabe and Shaun come from very different backgrounds, they're  both long time residents of Little Egg Harbor and share a love for their community.  For them, Little Egg Harbor is home and they're passionate about making it the best place on Earth to live. Both of them are regular volunteers at the Little Egg Harbor Food Pantry and constantly work at community building by creating opportunities for residents to volunteer on public service projects.

They support initiatives for creating greater transparency, cutting government waste, creating more and improved public spaces, and attracting business and tourism to Little Egg Harbor.

Shaun Moran

Shaun Moran first decided to run for LEH Township Committee in 2020 so that his hometown neighbors are no longer subjected to the corruption of some elected officials in LEH who he believes spend more time thinking of ways to profit from their positions than they do rethinking new ways to improve our community for everyone. He is running again in 2021 because he is committed to bettering our vibrant community.

A lifelong resident of LEH, Shaun is the product of a working class family and passionate about making government work for everyone. He graduated summa cum laude from Ocean County College in 2018 and then summa cum laude from Rutgers University-New Brunswick in 2020 with High Honors in Political Science. Shaun studied Political Science with a focus on preparing for public service and presently studies at the prestigious Rutgers Bloustein School of Planning & Public Policy, where he is on track to earn a Master of Public Policy degree in May 2022. Shaun is also no stranger to the public sector in practice, as he previously interned for the Third Legislative District Office of NJ Senate President Steve Sweeney.

Shaun spearheaded LEH United’s “Operation Christmas Cards for Our Troops” and a similar initiative to benefit children at Shore Medical Center. The projects sent hundreds of cards that were handwritten by Little Egg Harbor residents to soldiers stationed overseas, and children in the hospital during the holidays. Shaun along with Gabe also instituted a biannual, apolitical “We Love Our Great Bay” community service initiative where they, along dozens of Little Egg Harbor residents have so far removed many metric yards of refuse and bulk trash from Seven Bridges. Shaun additionally joined Clean Ocean Action as part of their biannual Beach Sweeps.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shaun has served over 60 hours at the LEH Food Pantry. Additionally, he joined the LEH Environmental Commission for their 2021 Earth Day Community-Wide Cleanup. He is a dues-paying member of the Friends of the Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter, trains with CONTACT of Ocean & Monmouth Counties to serve as a volunteer helpline specialist, and volunteers as a tutor for the Petey Greene Program, a program that supports the academic goals of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people.

In his spare time, Moran enjoys reading and spending time with his fiancée, Monique.
